EdVenture Camp Information

About EdVenture Camp:

MCCSC’s EdVenture Camp is a summer program for students entering Pre-K through 8th grade. Four, two-week sessions are offered over the months of June and July to provide fun and educational programming for students.

New for 2025: “Little Explorers” – A summer camp experience designed specifically for incoming Pre-K and Kindergarten students!

  • EdVenture Camp serves children entering 4-year-old Pre-K through 8th grade in the fall of 2025. There are no county or address requirements to attend camp.

    MCCSC EdVenture Camp is an inclusive summer camp program. In order to make camp a positive, safe, and successful experience for all campers, please determine whether your camper meets the following criteria prior to registering:

    • Camper is age appropriate. This means they are entering 4-year-old Pre-K through 8th grade in the fall of 2025
      • 4-year-old Pre-K students must be 4 years old by August 1st, 2025
      • Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by August 1st, 2025
    • Camper is able to participate in the camp program independently or with reasonable accommodations. 
    • Camper is willing and able to follow directions and instruction from staff.
    • Camper is comfortable with and able to safely interact in a group environment.

     

    Camp eligiblity for students attending other MCCSC Summer Programs:

    • Academic Camp: Students attending Academic Camp at Fairview Elementary are eligible to attend Session 4 of EdVenture Camp. 
    • Camp Connections: Students attending Camp Connections at Summit Elementary are eligible to attend Session 1 of EdVenture Camp beginning at noon.

     

  • Extended Day care is available before and after camp hours for an additional fee. Campers in the Little Explorers half day program may attend before camp care only.

  • Families will be responsible for transporting their child to and from EdVenture Camp. 

    Daily Drop Offs and Pick Ups: Designated drop off and pick up areas will be given to camp families before camp begins.

     

  • The following meals are included in the session fee cost:

    • Breakfast
    • Lunch (Campers may choose to bring lunch from home)
    • Afternoon Snack

  • Campers will need to bring:

    • Water bottle
    • Change of clothes
    • Swim suit for water days (Water days are planned in advance, and families will be notified beforehand) 

     

    Notes:

    • Messy Play: EdVenture Camp involves indoor and outdoor activities and messy play. Please dress your child accordingly, EdVenture Camp is not responsible for replacing clothing items.
    • Electronic Devices: Please do not bring any electronics to camp, including iPads, cell phones, game consoles, etc. Electronic items will be confiscated by camp staff and returned to the parent/guardian at the end of the day. EdVenture Camp is not responsible for any damage that could occur to a device that is brought to camp.

  • EdVenture Camp Open House:

    When: Friday, May 30th

    Time: 5:00-6:00 pm

    Where: Summit Elementary

    Campers and families will be able to:

    • Visit classrooms
    • Meet camp counselors
    • Ask questions
    • Visit friends, new and old!

  • EdVenture Camp provides engaging and educational experiences to prevent summer learning loss including:

     

    • Hands-on, discovery-based activities
    • Indoor and outdoor play
    • Participation in team building activities
    • Weekly art and music classes
    • Water play experiences
    • Field trips and special visitors

     

    Field Trips and Special Visitors: EdVenture Camp and Little Explorers will participate in either a field trip or a special visitor each session. Details on field trips and special visitors will be released before camp begins.

Tuition Assistance:

A limited number of scholarships are available for qualifying campers.To qualify for scholarships:

  • K-8th Grade: Families must have received MCCSC Free/Reduced meals during the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Pre-K: Meet 4-year-old Pre-K Income Eligibility Guidelines.

Scholarship Attendance Guidelines:

  • To maintain scholarship, campers must attend 6 camp days for each session registered.
  • Attendance guidelines apply to each camp session:
    • If campers do not attend at least 6 camp days per session, they will be switched to the fee-based program and will need to pay in full to retain seat.
    • If missed attendance is due to illness, a doctor’s note will need to be provided.

Late Pick-Ups: Late pick up fees are assessed at $1 per minute per child.

  • Late pick-up fees for campers enrolled in the half-day program (Little Explorers only) begin at 12:16 pm.
  • Late pick-up fees for campers not enrolled in after camp care (Extended Day) begin at 3:16 pm.
  • Late pick-up fees for campers enrolled in after camp care (Extended Day) begin at 5:31 pm.

Overdue Balance: If camp fees are not paid by 12:00 pm (noon) on the due date listed on your bill, a program removal notice will be sent.
